Job Summary:  Performs assessment and re-assessment of patients referred by a physician with cardiovascular and pulmonary disorders. Identifies and develops individualized treatment goals and plan of care.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of a school of nursing.  BSN or MSN preferred.
Experience: Must have three (3) years recent experience as a critical care nurse in an acute care hospital or cardiac rehab department. Must be able to pass the dysrhythmia test upon hire. Must be able to pass the BKAT with a score of 80%.
License and Certification: Current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Ability to obtain and maintain department specific certifications.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information. Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email, basic internet use).
Working knowledge of state practice act and federal Medicare regulations. Demonstrated knowledge of medical, cardiac, and critical care nursing; arrhythmias, ACLS. Ability to manage time and meet deadlines in a hectic work environment. Proficient skills in of windows based software including word processing, spreadsheets). Works efficiently and organizes time appropriately. Must be organized, flexible, a team player.

PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING
Requires the ability to exercise discretion and use good judgment to perform duties promptly and consistently with little direction. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. Requires high level analytical ability in order to gather and interpret response to changes, circumstances or problems. Considerable decision making concerning direct patient care.
