Job Description
Contributes to and implements a robust and measurable Infection Prevention program at Hartford Healthcare Medical Group. Serves as an expert in infection prevention and control to serve as a consultant and resource for departments and colleagues in matters of infection prevention/control. Investigates outbreaks and implements mitigation. Informs appropriate colleagues about federal and state regulations concerning reportable disease and infection prevention/ control. Educates concerning matters of infection prevention and control and infections. Conducts and participates in research activities in the fields of Infection Prevention, Infectious Disease and Epidemiology. This position covers all HHCMG locations. Services are provided for patients of all ages.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s of science Degree in Nursing, Microbiology or Public Health required.
Masters of Nursing, Masters of Public Health, Masters of Microbiology preferred.
Broad knowledge base in Epidemiology or Occupational Health, statistics and microbiology.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a healthcare related field required.
Two (2) or more years acute care experience in Infection Prevention, or
Five (5) years of acute care hospital experience preferred.
Infection prevention and/or educational training preferred.
Certified or licensed and currently registered to practice as a clinical professional required.
Certified in Infection Control preferred.
