The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization.
With the creation of our new umbrella organization we now have our own identity with a unique payroll, benefits, performance management system, service recognition programs and other common practices across the system.

Position Summary/Responsibilities:

1. Ensure authorization requirements are met for elective hospital procedures/services in accordance with HHC Policy
2. High Telephone interaction with provider offices, payers and clinical offices
3. High use of payer websites and third-party software to validate authorization requirements/benefit information
4. Daily work is assigned via electronic worklist
5. Quality and Productivity expectations

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma Required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Professional customer service skills
• Must be able to sit for 90% of the day
• Proficiency with technology (i.e. Zoom, Windows, Keyboard, Electronic Fax, Mouse, etc.)
• Two years of experience in medical or insurance billing preferred
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred
