JOB SUMMARY
Performs Computed Tomographic (CT), Radiographic and Mammographic procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Provides patient services, neonatal through geriatric, using imaging modalities in an efficient professional manner and with sensitivity to patient needs.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Education: Graduate of a JCERT accredited program for Radiologic Technologists. ARRT (R) registry required. ARRT (R) (CT) (M) preferred.
Experience: Graduate Radiologic Technologist. More than one year experience as a Radiologic Technologist, including mammography preferred.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or registry eligible if new graduate. Current State of Connecticut Radiographer license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to make independent decisions within his/her area of responsibility. Good verbal skills in the English language required daily. Excellent telephone skills required. Ability to learn use of all equipment necessary to perform job. Excellent PC skills including data entry required. Ability to adapt in fast paced, stressful environment. Working knowledge of medical terminology to include diagnosis/CPT codes. Accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation skills necessary. Work is performed in accordance with instruction and procedures, but requires the ability to recognize problem situations and refer them to the appropriate staff member.
