The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital, we provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space.
Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability, uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family.
Organizes and administers individualized, professional patient care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital.
Provides nursing care as directed by medical staff and in accordance with the objectives, policies, procedures and protocols of the hospital and the state Nurse Practice Act.
Maintains the standards of nursing care as established.
Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning.
Incorporates the needs and behavior of the patient's specific age group in planning and providing care.
Participates in quality improvement activities.
Qualifications
Nursing degree from an accredited BSN or ASN program
Minimum Requirements
Current RN license in state of Connecticut
Experience in clinical specialty.
Self directed in the management of patient care.
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
Independent problem solving skills.
