Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network is the premier rehabilitation provider in Connecticut. Hartford Healthcare Rehabilitation Network is seeking an Outpatient Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) who has a passion for patient care and strong proficiency in adult neurological rehabilitation including speech/language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. This is an outstanding opportunity to work with a diverse patient population in a dynamic team atmosphere with experienced clinicians and some of the best providers in New England.


Position Specifics

Full Time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) opening for a position split between two outpatient rehab clinics (Cheshire and Meriden, CT).  In the Cheshire location there will be opportunity to work collaboratively with a strong neuro-rehab team and alongside another established neuro-focused SLP.  The Meriden location will allow the Speech Pathologist to develop and lead their own program focusing on both neurological and voice disorders.  This clinic will present the opportunity to build relationships with physicians and market a program designed to fit the applicant’s areas of proficiency.  Mentoring and continuing education available to support clinical development. 


The Speech Language Pathologist will independently evaluate and provide direct services that identify, restore and rehabilitate disorders of communication, cognition, and swallowing.  There will be exposure to various patient populations including Parkinson’s disease, stroke, TBI, COVID long-haul syndrome, vocal cord pathologies, and head and neck cancer.   The SLP will have access and gain experience with more advanced programs such as respiratory muscle strength training, SPEAK OUT! and LOUD Crowd for Parkinson’s Disease, FEES, Synchrony with sEMG, and voice analysis systems.   This position will also require some program development, physician relationship building and community marketing.  This therapist will interact with rehabilitation professionals throughout the HHC system of care to ensure that best practices are followed in the provision of care.  Data will be analyzed and utilized to improve patient outcomes, and the clinician will partner with program managers to implement, enhance, and optimize clinical programs.

  • Open to new grads.
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college/university.
  • State of Connecticut License in Speech/Language Pathology or approved Supervised Professional Experience (SPE) plan.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence or Approved Clinical Fellowship plan from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association-may be require depending on site.
