Our Senior PT-OT opening is with Hartford Hospital, one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals New England. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center that provides cutting edge treatment to its patients. This is made possible by being home to the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), one of the most-advanced medical simulation training centers in the world. Position Specifics

We are seeking a Senior Therapist, who will be our Cardiac Team lead.

The Senior Therapist provides clinical expertise in physical, occupational and/or speech therapies, educates staff, and mentors to a specific clinician or work group, to ensure that high quality, cost-effective care is delivered in support of the hospital's strategic plan. Independently evaluates, assesses, determines treatment strategies, delivers and/or delegates services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain, with emphasis on physical dysfunction to maximize the patient's functional independence. Utilizes advanced clinical skills and knowledge to meet HHCRN/HH Balanced Scorecard initiatives. Reports to site supervisor.

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program, Occupational Therapy program or Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, with an active CT license.
  • Minimum of three years clinical experience with demonstrated strong clinical knowledge and skills required.
  • Experience as clinical instructor or mentor for at least 2 full-time students or new employees within the previous two years required.
  • Knowledge of complex cardiac medicine in the acute care setting preferred.
  • Must possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient for effective leadership and to represent HHCRN/HH to all partners including patients, families, co-workers, HHCRN/HH leadership, referral sources, potential candidates, members of professional organizations and academic institutions.
  • Must possess strong knowledge in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Language Pathology and analytic abilities to act as a clinical resource and mentor, and to assist with development and implementation of clinical programs, performance improvement initiatives, and marketing activities.
