Job Summary
The Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Hartford Hospital is a fast paced and exciting place to work. Our Cardiac Cath Lab offers a large variety of state of the art, cutting edge and lifesaving treatments for complex patient populations. Our busy Cath Lab is comprised of five suites, Pre op and Recovery area (called JB2) and five additional bays are housed in our Cath Lab holding area.
There are approximately 5,000 diagnostic cardiac caths done per year and of these 1,500 become interventions. In our Cath Lab at Hartford Hospital, we always strive to elevate our practice and standards of care. We are proud to have achieved the prestigious Comprehensive Cardiac Center accreditation, we are one of 16 hospitals nationally recognized Labs with this designation. We also hold the Gold Plus Standard of Cardiac Care designation.
The Cardiovascular technologist plays an integral role on our team. This role maintains and operates monitoring equipment, cardiac hemodynamic and radiological equipment such as Fluoroscopy. During the invasive cardiovascular procedures the technologist will assist the physician in determining cardiac diagnosis and treatment by providing hemodynamic data. Additionally the technologist will support the physician during the procedure at the scrub table. Working as a team and collaborating with all team members is paramount to our success. This role will report to the Manager.
Responsibilities
Extensive on the job training will be offered if needed, so the technologist will be proficient in arrhythmia reading, monitoring and documenting cardiac hemodynamics, functioning in the circulating role during cases and maintaining sterile technique at the scrub table while assisting the physician. Maintaining radiation safety and adhering to ALARA practices are always required.
