Shift Details: This position will support the Wallingford site hours of 7 am through 7 pm Monday-Thursday and 7 am-3:30 pm Friday

Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network is the premier rehabilitation provider in Connecticut. We provide rehabilitation services across the continuum - acute care hospitals, long term care facilities, sub-acute rehabilitation, homecare, outpatient centers, and in community settings such as senior centers, work sites, and schools and colleges.  We offer over 30 outpatient locations with a variety of specialists, including oncology, women’s health, sports medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language, we are known for our commitment to high quality, customer focused outcomes.

 

Overview

We’re seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) who has a passion for patient care primarily in the area of outpatient orthopedics, with additional focuses on headaches, back/neck pain, gait/balance, light neuro and vestibular conditions. We utilize functional based approaches to exercise and activity with our patients and include manual therapy and modality treatments as necessary. This is a great opportunity to work with a diverse patient population that offers a wonderful team atmosphere with experienced clinicians and some of the best orthopedic physicians, nurses and physician assistants in New England!

 

This position offers the potential for growth into a leadership position as the site and our network continue to grow!  It could also provide the opportunity to work in other HHCRN offices in the general area.

 

Position Specifics

 

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for treatment planning and implementation for our outpatient referrals for physical therapy. 

Under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, aid in performing structured assessments, and assists in determining, revising and implementing treatment plan in order to identify, prevent, remediate and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain, with emphasis on physical dysfunction. Utilizes treatment skills and tools in order to measure and assess patient needs, therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents, exercise and other procedures to maximize the patient's functional independence

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Physical Therapy Assistant Program from an accredited American Physical Therapy Association school, Associates degree required.
  • Connecticut registration required.
  • CPR certification required at time of start.
