The Women’s Health Patient Navigator is essential to the development of good communication between the patient, physicians, Nurse Navigator and cancer center support staff. As a member of Oncology staff, the primary purpose of the Women’s Health Navigator is to reduce barriers to care, provide education, and streamline and coordinate additional imaging and procedures. Work in collaboration with the Nurse Navigators, Breast and GYN practices for proper handoff of malignant diagnoses. Working with and alongside Radiologists, Mammographers, Ultrasound and MRI Technologists; as a liaison between providers and patients to assure excellent care from the time of imaging to diagnosis. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to:
Graduate of Radiographer Program; Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
3 years of healthcare experience preferably in women’s health including breast imaging, breast disease, and/or gynecologic disease.
Licensure, Certification, Registration:
Current Connecticut License, Radiographer required
Certified Mammography Technologist / Breast Ultrasound Technologist / MRI Breast Technologist preferred
