Work where every moment matters.

Every day, almost 35,000 Hartford HealthCare colleagues come to work with one thing in common: Pride in what we do, knowing every moment matters here. We invite you to become part of Connecticut’s most comprehensive healthcare network.

The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization.
With the creation of our new umbrella organization we now have our own identity with a unique payroll, benefits, performance management system, service recognition programs and other common practices across the system.

The Clinical Credentialed Trainer (CT) plays a key role in helping the CareConnect Program meet the objectives for clinical end users during implementation of the Epic electronic health record as well as with subsequent optimizations and upgrades. This person will focus on learning the EPIC software for their role as a trainer, leading the classroom education for their designated application(s), and provide elbow to elbow support during Go Live events. The primary focus will be to drive faster adoption, greater ultimate utilization and higher proficiency of the end users to minimize the impact on productivity.

The CT provides in the classroom and operational support for the Epic implementation project and post go live training activities. The CT answers end-user questions as part of the training team, and serves as a liaison between end users and project and department leaders.

This position requires successful completion of the Epic credentialing process which includes a 4-6 week training program on the application(s), to include “teach back” methodology, successful completion of a teaching presentation before a panel, and successful completion of a Credentialing exam. In addition, the position requires comprehensive knowledge of clinical practice models.

Key Accountabilities:

  • The CT reports to Training Team Lead and takes direction from the assigned Instructional Designer.
  • The CT is a liaison between his/her end user departments and the CareConnect team before, during and after GoLive.
  • The CT attends assigned Epic application training in the application(s) to which s/he is assigned. The CT must go through the Credentialing process as designed by the Instructional Design team and pass with 85% competency before they are allowed to train end users, including the super users.
  • The CT will conduct instruction and competency testing for the Super Users and End Users.
  • The CT will train end users in the classroom as assigned, which may involve travel to various sites, and a varying schedule.
  • The CT will provide tutorial or special audience training.
  • The CT is accountable for maintaining the readiness of training rooms, assembling training materials and generating status reports on training sessions and participating in the quality improvement process.
Go-live support. This is an important responsibility of CTs because they are the main source of support for Super Users and end users in their departments during go-live. CTs answer questions, help end users navigate through the system, and report issues to the project team to support prompt resolution.
