The Clinical Intelligence Senior Analyst is responsible for data mining, analyzing, assessing, and organizing, formatting and presenting data for the purposes of supporting balanced scorecard initiatives, regulatory reporting, and clinical decision support.  The analyst requires frequent direct interaction with a variety of clinical customers in the development of Epic and other analytic application solutions. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain access, organize and analyze information from various sources through the production of self-service analytics, Epic optimization and or the generation and distribution of established monthly/quarterly report outputs.
  • Performs complex data analysis in support of customer requests.
  • Responsible for data collection to identify baselines and process measures, management of report distribution on a regular basis and continuously recommends changes based on identified best practice. Turns data into information and proactively identifies opportunities based on that information.
  • Partners with clinical teams to align priorities, deliverables and assist in the development of system-wide analytics and support for the organization around improvement initiatives, clinical transformation, and data literacy.
  • Model and evaluate impact of medical and quality management activities across Hartford HealthCare using EPIC Applications, Caboodle data, EPSi cost accounting data, Premier Analytics, Epic EHR Reporting, REDCap other internal/external clinical databases.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors of Computer Science, Nursing, or related discipline

Experience:

  •  At least five years recent experience in data analytics in collaboration with clinical quality teams and/or process improvement activities in an acute care setting.
  • 1+ years of experience with Epic application/system configuration and implementation of clinical information systems (RWB, Slicer Dicer, Radar Dashboards)
  • Demonstrated experience in writing software requirements and test specifications.
  • Knowledge of Premier and QlikView/QlikSense is highly desired.       
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with MS Office, SharePoint, databases (T-SQL, PL/SQL)
  • Introductory knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, QlikView/QlikSense highly desired, Tableau etc.)
