Established Electrophysiology team is seeking experienced nurses to build upon a rapidly expanding division of the Hartford Healthcare Heart & Vascular Institute. Candidates must possess a commitment to learn in an education intensive environment, as well as strong nursing skills to respond quickly and effectively in emergent circumstances.
Qualified candidates will receive expert training and mentorship through an extensive orientation program. The candidate-preceptor team will provide safe and supervised care throughout the periop continuum utilizing evidence based patient care consistent with the Nursing Practice Act, Best Practice standards, and hospital policy. Upon completion of orientation, candidates will be proficient in procedure documentation, circulating, and scrubbing both cardiac ablation as well as device procedures. This position offers an abundance of extracurricular educational opportunities including EKG interpretation and arrhythmia localization, cardiac anatomy, and fundamentals of electrophysiology. Educational programs pertaining to advanced certifications within the field of interventional cardiology are available.
This position provides work-life balance with 4 weekday shifts, rotating Saturday on-call (days only), and offers flexible hours. Overtime is available and highly incentivized. Staff members are required to remain flexible with their timing in the evenings depending on caseload. The lab is always closed on Sundays, overnights, and holidays.
• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN required).
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire.
• ICU/Step-down/ Emergency Room preferred
• Strong Cardiology background preferred.
