The Emergency Department at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital offers emergency services to people of all ages for any medical, surgical, or behavioral health need that may arise. Our unit is comprised of 35 beds, including a FastTrack area, Crisis Intervention for Acute Behavioral Health Emergencies, and specialized Critical Care resuscitation rooms. Our multi-disciplinary team includes Registered Nurses, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Patient Care Technicians and an ancillary support staff, all of whom work together in a supportive environment to ensure we have a safe and skillful emergency department for our staff members and patients. We strive to work with the utmost efficiently and professionalism while at the same time providing the highest levels of personalized, compassionate care and satisfaction for our community and surrounding areas. 

Description:

Provides holistic, quality and cost-effective nursing care for patients/families and/or others for patient populations within a unit, service or other primary area of practice, with an awareness of the continuum of care. Applies the nursing process within the context of the organization's Framework for Professional Practice. Collaboratively manages transitions across the continuum of care, to assist patients or populations in achieving or maintaining an optimal level of health. Is recognized as professional role model and clinical expert. Delegates and supervises work appropriately. Reports to Unit Manager.

Qualifications

• RN CT License required prior to start date.
• BSN degree required, MSN a plus.*Exceptions to the educational requirement will be evaluated on an individual basis. For example, a strong candidate in the process of completing the educational requirement will be considered. Continued progress toward completion of the educational requirement within five years will be required.
• Minimum three years Emergency Room RN experience.
