The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital, we provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Duties:
Under the general supervision of Laboratory Section Supervisor, the Medical Technologist performs a variety of laboratory functions to be used in the treatment and diagnosis of disease. This generalist role is responsible for Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank and minimal microbiology.

Must be available to orient full-time on the day shift for at least 12 weeks.

Qualifications

Education Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or Related Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology).

Minimum Requirements
MT/CLS (ASCP or equivalent) certification or eligible.
Previous Medical Technologist work experience in a clinical laboratory setting OR participation in a clinical laboratory rotation through a Medical Technology educational program.
Experience in Blood Bank required.
Customer Service Oriented.
Ability to work independently.
Demonstrate high level of problem solving.
Ability to communicate well with supervisors, physicians, co-workers and hospital staff.
Knowledge of laboratory equipment and instruments where appropriate.
Proficient computer skills.
