Job Summary

The Ambulatory Oncology Pharmacy Specialist supports the medical oncology clinics by leveraging pharmacy clinical expertise to optimize patient care plans. With the rapid cancer growth of self-administered medication, this position has a primary focus on supporting patients that are undergoing treatment with oral chemotherapy/targeted therapies. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to the following:

  • Integrate into clinical team and provide highly specialized oncology pharmacy services to members of team, including education, care planning and drug monitoring
  • Order verification of cancer treatments
  • Develop quality-improvement initiatives
  • Participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics Council



  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Doctorate in Pharmacy ( Pharm.D.) strongly preferred


  • PGY1 pharmacy training or 3 years oncology experience

Licensure, Certification, Registration:

  • Current unrestricted pharmacist license from Connecticut Board of Pharmacy or eligibility within 45 days.
  • Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy at time of hire or within 1 year upon being eligible to sit for exam
