The Clinical Research Unit Leader provides daily supervision to the clinical research nurses, coordinators and assistants in the Hartford Region, coordinates major department programs and operational planning initiatives and serves as project leader on a variety of new initiatives within the oncology research department across the Hartford HealthCare System (HHC). These includes key committee work, process improvement, policies and procedure development, education and outreach program design and implementation and dashboard reporting. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to the following:

  • Research Conduct and Compliance         
  • Project Leadership 
  • Operational Management                          
  • Program Development
  • Data collection and reporting
  • Supervision and staff development

Qualifications

Work Experience: 

  • Five (5) years of experience at an academic medical center, hospital or equivalent healthcare or academic setting
  • Five (5) years of direct clinical research experience with three (3) years in oncology research experience
  • One (1) years of research specialization
  • Strong working knowledge of human subject's research ethics and clinical trial practices and policies to include ICH, GCP, FDA regulations, IRB policies, complex visit structures, budgets and contracts
  • Experience with Epic EHR

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in science or health related field; Master’s Preferred

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Good clinical practice certification
