Job Summary:

 

Assists Medical Technologists in various tasks to ensure proper operation of the Special Hematology Laboratory. Primary responsibilities include: sample processing, loading samples onto instruments for testing, sample archiving, and handling add-on test orders. Works effectively with the customer to answer specimen or other laboratory related questions in a timely manner to ensure the best patient care. Additional duties can include: maintaining inventory of reagents/supplies, performing instrument maintenance, and assisting the specimen processing department. Must have ability to work independently and organize multiple tasks, concentrate and pay attention to detail in a busy, fast paced environment.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • BS in Biology, Chemistry or related field preferred.
  • Must have word processing skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.
