Job Summary:

Entry-level position for new graduates immediately following completion of an accredited Radiography Program while awaiting results of ARRT exam and State of Connecticut Radiographer license.

Under supervision of a registered radiologic technologist, operates equipment and performs radiographic imaging procedures by positioning patients and preparing contrast media for imaging procedures on patients.


New graduates may not occupy this position longer than 120 calendar days after the date of graduation. If the employee fails to pass the ARRT examination and obtain a license, termination will result.


Job Responsibilities:

  1. Completes department and general diagnostic section training checklists
  1. Demonstrates competency in General, ED, OR, and Fluoroscopic imaging procedures.
  1. Performs diagnostic imaging studies by following established protocols and selecting correct exposure factors utilizing the assessment of patient age and diagnosis to produce high quality images to assist the radiologist in the diagnosis.
  1. Provides radiation safety through appropriate use of radiation protection devices and adherence to radiation safety standards in compliance with regulatory agencies and requirements to protect the patient and staff.
  1. Accurately inputs procedural data into electronic medical record, RIS and PACS to capture critical information regarding exams, supply charges, resource allocations, radiation exposure as well as all relevant clinical information. Performs exams utilizing DR, CR and Panorex, annotate and QA transferring all images into PACS .
  1. Demonstrates knowledge and behaviors, to meet age specific patient needs (e.g. Pediatrics, Adolescents, Geriatrics.) and cultural diversity.
  1. Pledges to "Image Wisely", "Image Gently" and provide a positive and lasting impression on every encounter.



New graduate of an accredited Radiography program within 120 days of graduation

Relevant clinical experience in fluoroscopy, emergency and operating room imaging.
