Hartford HealthCare has a new opportunity available for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to practice surgical pre-admission testing at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT.

 

Some highlights of this opportunity include:

  • Preadmission testing for the Department of Surgery which includes, but is not limited to orthopedics, cardiology, GYN, neuro, and vascular.
  • Set protocols allowing more time to focus on a patient population that is more complex and intellectually stimulating than a typical office setting
  • Great work life balance with a Monday through Friday 5 8’s schedule with no call and holidays off!
  • Responsibilities include review of patient’s medical history, perform and document H&Ps in the EMR, interpretation of lab values and EKGs, determine need for additional medical testing, ordering and interpreting testing, perform and document anesthesia risk assessment, perform teaching to patient/family regarding anesthesia and general information about surgery

Qualifications

Eligibility to be licensed as a Physician Assistant (PA), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) is required. A minimum of 1 year of experience practicing as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is required. Experience within the ED, critical care, or surgery is highly preferred.
