Hartford Hospital is one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals in New England. We are a Level 1 Trauma Center that provides cutting edge treatment to its patients. This is made possible by being home to the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), one of the most-advanced medical simulation training centers in the world. The Cardiothoracic ICU is a 16 bed Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Hartford Hospital. Our primary focus is on recovering patients after open heart surgery. We also take care of patients who require temporary VADs and ECMO therapy. The Cardiothoracic ICU also recovers patients after durable VAD placement and heart transplantation. We also offer technology such as CRRT and IABP therapy to patients in need.

In Critical Care, our Registered Nurses (RNs) are highly skilled and trained; helping to provide expertise at the bedside and the highest quality care in the most compassionate way. The units heavily rely on a team-based mentality in which all healthcare team members work congruently to achieve the best outcomes based on the Hartford Healthcare values of Safety, Excellence, Integrity and Caring.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required).
• Minimum one year Acute RN experience required.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association, ACLS certification, and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire.
• In exceptional circumstances, experienced candidates with an ASN/ADN currently in pursuit of a BSN or MSN may be considered.
