Job Summary

  • Performs a number of patient care activities under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse preceptor
  • Responsible for performing a number of routine functions related to the care and well being of the patients, including but not limited to: assisting with ambulation and physical therapy; assisting with activities of daily living; emptying a variety of drainage bags and recording pertinent information; answering patient call lights and reporting relevant information to nursing staff; transporting patients as assigned; obtaining specimen collections including urine, stool, and sputum; obtaining EKGs as needed; performing point of care testing; preparing patients for Telemetry monitoring; assisting the nurse in data collection and documentation of admission assessment, plan of care, interventions, and evaluation.
  • Consistently demonstrates caring for patients, for one another, and for the organization they are part of, and contributes to building trust, pride and camaraderie.
  • Duties may be specific to one unit or multiple units across the hospital



  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Registered Nursing program having completed at least one semester of clinical rotations.
