St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.

Summary:

Executes the clinical operation of the Employee Health Department in servicing the work-related injury, illness and exposure care of the employees of HHC and its Business Units.  Responsible for clinicians providing direct care to HHC and Fairfield Region Business Unit employees and external contract business partners.  Provides consultative and direct support as required for affiliates regarding management of medical clearance of new hires, workers’ compensation case management, and compliance with regulatory statutes. Ensures regional regulatory compliance with OSHA Standards and CDC Guidelines for healthcare workers. Review, revise and implement worker disease and injury prevention and compliance programs, including TB surveillance, blood borne pathogens, hearing conservation, and environmental safety. Develops and writes policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred (BSN).
  • Active RN License in the State of CT
  • Prior supervisory experience in an Occupational Health background.  
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and CDC guidelines.
  • Knowledge of infectious disease and worker safety program requirements for a healthcare setting.
