Job Shift: Shift 1
Shift Details: 40 Hours per week 5 8-hour shifts Morning and Night Shifts

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.


Job Summary:
• Prepares food in compliance with guidelines and standardized recipes.

Responsibilities:

• Reviews menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared.
• Prepares food in accordance with standardized recipes.
• Follows cooking schedule to ensure food will be ready at specified times. Confers with chef regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers.
• Adheres to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines in the storage, handling and preparation of food as well as in the sanitation and maintenance of work area.
• Responsible for proper presentation and maintains correct holding temperatures.
• Works all areas in cafeteria and other assignments as required including: area set-up, stocking, cleaning.
• Follows department and regulatory standards including proper hair covering, gloves, dress code, and other items as required.
• Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications

Work Experience:

• 1 year cooking and Flat top experience required.
• Retail service experience a plus.
