The Specialty Clinic (BS 5) is located at 79 Retreat Avenue on the second and fifth floor of the Brownstone building.  BS-2 and 5 clinics have over 4,500 patient visits annually.  There are over 12 different specialty clinics held on various days of the week. Clinics include services from Cardiology, ENT, Breast, Gastro, Urology/Cysto, Trauma, General Surgery, Neurology/Epilepsy, Bloodless Surgery, Geriatrics, Spanish Movement Disorder and Pulmonary.  Staffing includes attendings, PA, fellows, residents, RNs, MA, MAA and Data Manager.  BS-2 and 5 staff guide patients through the health system, including appropriate referrals for services to other health professionals.

In addition, the Department of Dentistry, located on the 6^th floor of 79 Retreat Avenue, is also a part of this preview.  Dental program is dedicated to providing comprehensive   Dental Hygiene care, General Dentistry and Oral Maximal Facial Surgical treatments.   Staffing includes full time and part time dentists, dental surgeons, and residents in training as well as dental hygienists and dental assistants.  A high standard of excellence in personalized dental care enables us to provide exceptional dental services for our patients.  We offer a full range of services that are offered Monday thru Friday 8:15am-4:30PM.

Services include the following:

General Dentistry (for both adults & kids), Dental Cleanings & Exams, Cosmetic Dentistry, Crowns & Bridges, Fillings, Root Canal Therapy, Extractions, Bonding, Fluoride Treatment, Teeth Whitening, Dental Implants, Dentures, and Periodontal treatments.

Job Summary:

Functioning within the framework for professional nursing practice, the Patient Unit Manager supports and assists the Director. This position has 24 hour accountability for managing resources (human, material and financial), to ensure quality, cost-effective delivery of patient services for specific patient populations, in a defined area across the continuum. This is accomplished by direct action, delegation, coaching and support of unit-based shared governance councils. Reports to Director of Service.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut Registered Nurse license required.
• Bachelor's degree required.* Master's degree preferred. One degree must be in Nursing.
• Certification in nursing administration is required within 5 years of assuming position.
• Minimum 3 years relevant clinical experience.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Demonstrated progressive leadership skills.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
  
  *Exceptions to the educational requirement will be evaluated on an individual basis. For example, a strong candidate in the process of completing the educational requirement will be considered. Continued progress toward completion of the educational requirement within five years will be required.
