Staffed by renowned orthopedic specialists, The Connecticut Orthopaedic Institute provides an exceptional patient experience – delivering world-class care with the highest safety and quality.  The Connecticut Orthopaedic Institute’s Physician Assistant team is a growing department that covers inpatient joint reconstruction, spine, podiatry and acute fracture care.


Physician Assistant (PA) Description

  • First and/or Second Assist in the Operating Room.
  • Provides pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.
  • Documents patient encounters, including but not limited to:  admissions, brief operative, progress, event, procedure and discharge notes.
  • Enters, reviews and updates orders.
  • Collaborates as part of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate safe and appropriate patient disposition.

The Connecticut Orthopaedic Institute is staffed by some of the top orthopaedic specialists in the region through a partnership with Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists and Comprehensive Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Care. The surgeons, and their patients, also have access to the best-available, robotics-assisted technology – Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery for knees and hips, Mazor X Robotic Spine Surgery for the spine – that makes a procedure less invasive and more precise. For you, that means a quicker recovery and restored function of your knee, hip, or spine

Qualifications

Physician Assistant Qualifications

  • Board certified or eligible within 6 months of hire (NCCPA).
  • Current or eligible CT PA license.
  • Minimal of two years of PA orthopedic or surgical experience required.
