Charlotte Hungerford Hospital is a 122-bed, general acute care community hospital located in Torrington, Connecticut, that serves as a regional health care resource for the 100,000 residents of Litchfield County and Northwest Connecticut. Position Summary:
The Environmental Services Lead Aide performs general cleaning and routine related activities, in assigned areas, according to department standards in order to maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized environment. (Reports to Unit/Team Leader).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize environment by completing daily, periodic, and project cleaning using appropriate equipment, chemicals, and supplies to provide a healthy and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Dispose of all categories of waste by segregating, packaging, and removing waste to comply with state and federal regulations regarding waste management.
  • Transport, move, and deliver furniture and equipment using hospital vehicles, hand trucks, and dollies in accordance with customers' requests and needs.
  • The Environmental Services Lead Aide needs to respond promptly and appropriately to emergency environmental situations to provide a safe environment for all customers (patients, staff, and visitors).
  • In the absence of a unit leader, may be assigned to function as a team leader for an assigned area or cleaning project by coordinating/overseeing the supplies, equipment and activities of peers.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
