Hartford HealthCare is seeking a full-time Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join St. Vincent’s Urgent Care Walk-In Centers, which are conveniently located throughout western Connecticut.
Advanced Practitioner Role Scope
The Advanced Practitioner practices in an ambulatory urgent care outpatient setting providing primarily urgent care. Under established guidelines and in collaboration with the practice physician(s), performs routine physical examinations, and formulates medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patient. In consultation with the physician(s), develops plan for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists. Provides appropriate treatment for problems within scope of a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) practice as designated by protocols. Identifies problems outside of Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician. Additional responsibilities may include providing coverage in occupational health.
