Manages the design, development, training, and implementation of Periop Services Epic, OpTime systems throughout the OR, Pre/Post-ops GI areas to provide business solutions to customers which will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their service delivery. Reports to Perioperative Services Director of Informatics & Support Services.
Proactively leads the identification of projects across our integrated delivery system to achieve end users’ business needs by developing and maintaining a system-wide knowledge and understanding of the Health Care Industry in order to make cost-effective and efficient recommendations.
Oversees the implementation of solutions across the integrated system with minimal guidance. Manages projects from identification through implementation, maintaining effective communication between project teams and customer departments to ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently.
Provides the highest level of diverse technical and clinical experience related to studying and analyzing systems needs, systems development and systems process analysis and design.
Proactively identifies, evaluates and implements operational improvements (CQI) affecting information delivery across the system to support optimal levels of department efficiencies and customer service levels.
Oversees various systems projects of a highly complex nature across the integrated system. Assembles project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion to meet project deadlines.
Works closely with ITS to negotiate Service Level Agreements between Periop and ITS.
Acts independently or as a member of the project team responsible for providing technical guidance concerning the business and systems implications of the applications of various systems and to allow the flexibility of future business needs..
Takes leadership role in the evaluation, selection and integration of vendor solutions by analyzing system capabilities, overall effectiveness of meeting customers’ functional requirements and supporting the cost benefits analysis.
Presents strategic plans and tactical commitments to Director for responsible projects to ensure alignment with system-wide strategic plans.
May be responsible for establishing performance expectations, coaching, developing and evaluating performance of employees to enable employees to be successful in contributing to the achievement of individual and departments objectives. Informs and advises superior on hiring and disciplinary actions.
Works with department educators for proper on boarding new staff, ensuring coordination and training in EPIC documentation.
Audit documentation trail for accuracy and consistency.
