Job Overview

Seeking experienced and highly motivated nurse to help manage new pulmonary nodule clinic within the division of Thoracic Surgery. Nurse will help facilitate patient intake and follow up, schedule consultations, and manage work ques.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

Runs reports to identify patients with incidental pulmonary nodules

Works in conjunction with Physician Assistant to triage consultations

First point of contact for patients to set up new patient appointments in the pulmonary nodule clinic

Manages consultation workqueue and continues to follow up with patients as needed

Follows up on diagnostic testing

Maintains relationships with Oncology Nurse Navigators and Radiology

Answering and triaging patient calls

Pre and post-operative instructions to surgical patients in the office

Placing ambulatory orders

Qualifications

  • Current Connecticut clinical license such as RN, PA/APRN with minimum of 5 years specific clinical experience to the designated area required.
  • BS required and Masters degree preferred
  • Two years supervisory/management and patient/staff education experience required.
  • Previous experience with patient satisfaction initiatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-directed, organized and have acute attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills; with a high level of initiative and follow-up capacity.
