Job Summary

The Business Manager for the Cardiac Cath Labs provides financial management expertise to the Cardiac cath labs for strategic planning, budgeting, analysis and decision-making. Works collaboratively with other members of the leadership team and with physician partners to achieve departmental and Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) goals. Works collaboratively with HVI finance department. Prepares and/or examines various financial and non-financial reports and analyzes the impact of actual and/or proposed operational changes in meeting the department initiatives. Coordinates the preparation and monitoring of the department budget and oversees the monthly report of financial performance. Assists the Cath Lab Clinical Manager to position the department to maximize financial resources in order to achieve goals and objectives. Provides direction for the analysis, implementation and use of information systems and data critical to the financial, operational and reporting needs of the department. The Business Manager for the Cardiac Cath Labs exemplifies the Hartford Hospital vision and values and acts in accordance with Hartford Hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, health care management, business informatics
Masters preferred

Experience
• Three (3) years of experience with hospital operational financial management and financial systems
Experience managing and developing employees.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements
• Significant knowledge and demonstrated successful in operational analysis, budget management, project management, hospital financial systems, cost accounting systems, and reimbursement systems and modeling.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word.
Excellent leadership skills.
