The Medication Access Liaison is responsible for completing the necessary functions to improve patient access to medications. The Medication Access Liaison will be primarily responsible for the following tasks: proactively identifying patients’ insurance coverage, understanding gaps in insurance coverage, navigating both manufacturer and non-profit programs to reduce patient out-of-pocket costs, identifying opportunities for improving reimbursement from payers, and documentation of activities on all applicable software platforms including the electronic health record. The position will work with pharmacists, social workers, care team members, and patient resources to identify and refer patients to the Medication Assistance Program (MAP).

Responsibilities include but, are not limited to the following:
• Identify coverage gaps for patients
• Financial assistance by navigating chronic disease funds and manufacturer programs
• Drug recovery through manufacturer sponsored programs
• Proactively review drug authorizations


 • HS Diploma or equivalent required
• Three years’ experience as a pharmacy technician or patient financial services associate required; Prior experience in working with medical or prescription reimbursement programs preferred
• Pharmacy technician registration with Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection required by March 31st of each year.
• Nationally certified as a pharmacy technician from a recognized certification board.
