The Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute at Hartford Hospital is looking for an experienced nurse to join our electrophysiology team. Join our rapidly growing and successful program at this exciting time as we launch a brand new electrophysiology lab, supported by a new dedicated pre-and post-recovery area.

Job Description: 


Organizing and administering individualized, professional patient care to patients within the Operating Room. Providing nursing care in accordance with the objectives, policies, procedures and protocols of the hospital and AORN, ASPAN and SGNA standards. Participating in patient teaching; incorporating the needs and behavior of the patient’s specific age/cultural groups in planning and providing care. Participating in quality improvement activities.


• Works closely with the anesthesiologist to provide care to high acuity patients pre, during and post-surgery.
• Primarily in cardiac and vascular areas
• Will assist with room set up including airway management invasive and non-invasive monitoring equipment and supplies.
• Participates in placement of peripheral IV
• Works with LPN to ensure availability of needed supplies and equipment partnering with anesthesia technician and biomedical engineering as needed

Qualifications

  • Current CT RN License
  • Must have previous OR nursing experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Independent problem solving skills
  • Excellent communications skills 
  • CNOR a plus
