St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 associates. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.

Position Summary:

Maintains existing facility systems according to specified trade.

Position Responsibilities:

• Maintains existing facility systems and installs new facility systems in accordance with standard trade practices, applicable codes and safety regulations.
• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs to electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems and equipment in support of the goals and operations of the Medical Center.
• Utilizes the highest level of troubleshooting skills and diagnostic techniques.
• All work is completed with the highest level of quality, maximum customer service and in a professional manner.
• Department of Consumer Protection licensed personnel i.e. Journeyman electrical or plumber, licensed carpenter or certified technician.

Reports to: Manager, Engineering


  • Trade School or equivalent training graduate with required minimum courses to qualify for Licensure of Certificate required.
  • Two to five years trade or work-related experience with facility maintenance of commercial equipment repair experience.
  • Knowledge of State of Connecticut Trade Codes and Safety Regulations required. 
  • Comprehensive troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in either electrical, plumbing, carpentry or mechanical areas.
