Hartford Hospital is one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals in New England. The Hospital is a Level 1 Trauma Center which provides cutting edge treatment to its patients. The Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine

The mission of The Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine is to provide the Southern New England region with access to expertise in advanced wound care and hyperbaric medicine therapies.

 

Wound Care Advanced Practitioner Role Scope    

• As a Wound Care APRN you will be responsible for clinical tasks and functions including:
• Comprehensive diagnosis and wound assessment of patients
• Perform procedures such as wound debridement, biopsies, application of skin biologics and substitutes
• Ordering appropriate lab tests, imaging studies, radiographic and other cardiac imaging studies, interpret lab, imaging studies and others.
• Management of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy treatments
• With the inter-professional Care Team, coordinate care of assigned patients including nursing care, nutrition, medications, dressings and adjunctive wound therapies
• Review patient charts, write progress notes, tabulate data, and complete other required medical record documentation

Qualifications

Advanced Practitioner Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Connecticut
• National Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) 
• Wound care certification or experience strongly preferred; HBO experience preferred but will train.
