Under the guidance of the Medical Directors and Laboratory Director, provides planning, coordination, evaluation and supervision of all technical and operational activities in the Anatomic Pathology departments (Histology and Cytology) for the HHC East Region Laboratories.


Education: Bachelor degree in a biologic science

Experience: 5+ years in Histology or Cytology experience and
3+ years in leadership or supervisory experience

Licensure, Certification, Registration: HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) or CT (ASCP) required

Language Skills: Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: Knowledge of principles, techniques, procedures, instrumentation and safety precautions in the field of Anatomic Pathology.
Knowledge of standards of regulatory compliance (CAP. CT DPH, Joint Commission, OSHA) in the field of Anatomic Pathology.
Experience in fixation, embedding, microtomy, staining, surgical grossing, cytopreparation, cytodiagnoses.
Experience in the operation, troubleshooting and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
Ability to detect and investigate problems.
Ability to provide technical consultation to providers, to supervise the work of others, and implement quality control standards.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Experience in Microsoft Office; hospital LIS; AP lab systems. Epic and CoPath preferred.
