St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.
St. Vincent’s Medical Center is a 473-bed Magnet recognized community
teaching hospital committed to continuing Christ’s healing ministry through its
service to the greater Bridgeport, CT community. Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) are 14 and 15 bed units which care for many of
the most acutely ill patients at the hospital. Patients on the units may be
suffering from a wide variety of ailments across the medical and surgical
spectrums, including open heart surgery, motor vehicle trauma, stroke and
numerous other diagnoses. We provide personalized, compassionate care to our
patients through teamwork, humility, and extensive knowledge; always focusing
on optimal patient outcomes without compromising the safety of our team,
patients or visitors.
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) performs basic patient care activities to patients in assigned area.
Assists with treatments ordered by physician and supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN).
Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to population specific facilitating timely and individualized care of assigned patients.
Other Duties as assigned.
Must have completed 2nd year (sophomore) of a 4 year Bachelor's of Nursing program or completed the 1st year of a 2 year Associate's of Nursing program.
Active BLS certification required prior to start date.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
