Ayer Neuroscience Institute

The Neuroscience Center offers a unique integration between neurology, neuroscience and neurosurgery, to give patients a comprehensive approach to treating and/or managing their symptoms and living a healthier, more balanced life. As a regional leader in robotic surgical technology, Hartford HealthCare is providing more advanced treatment options for spine surgery than ever before using the most sophisticated surgeon guided robotic technology available today.

 

Pain Management Advanced Practitioner Role Scope   

The nurse practitioner or physician assistant will work in an outpatient spine wellness center located in Westport, CT helping to build a busy spine care specialty office. This is an opportunity to work autonomously, but collaboratively with a leading Neurosurgeon and team of Advanced Practitioners, while still enjoying the hours and patient contact of an office practice. Responsibilities include:

  • Seeing new patients, follow up patients, and post injection patients for pain management
  • Determine proper pain therapy interventions and providing medication management
  • Assisting with in-office procedures
  • Collaborating with a dedicated researcher who assists with protocols
  • Providing referrals 
  • Communicating with patients and families
  • Monday through Friday schedule

Advanced Practitioner Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Master’s program preferred
  • Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of Connecticut
  • Certification, or eligible to be certified, as a Physician Assistant, or National Board Certification as an A-GNP /  AGPCNP Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or FNP Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Pain management experience highly preferred
