Job Shift: Shift 3
Shift Details: Night (11p-730a) Every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), the PCT will assist in the delivery of care to patients and their family. The PCT fulfills these duties to contribute to the continuity and quality of care that fosters the best interest and well-being of the patient and family.

Assists the RN or other primary care giver by performing routine nursing care measures as delegated and contributing information in daily management of patient care.
• Delivers assistance in patient hygiene such as baths, showers, grooming, mouth and denture care. Assists with elimination via bed pans, urinals etc. Transfers and ambulates patients. Preps patients for meals and other activities of daily living. Phlebotomy & performing EKG's as required by area.
• Performs technical procedures as delegated such as taking and recording patient vital signs, performing pre/post procedural care and assisting with more complicated treatments or diagnostic procedures.
• Focuses on patient safety and maintains clinical competencies as required for all assigned areas as appropriate to scope and training.

Qualifications

Education:
High School graduate or GED
Experience:
Completion of certified nursing training program, or experience as home health aide, enrolled in nursing program, or equivalent healthcare experience
License and Certification:
BLS within 90 days of hire

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Education:

Associates Degree.
Experience:
Experience in an acute care facility or equivalent, phlebotomy experience, electrocardiogram recording, computer and clerical experience preferred.
License and Certification:
Current CNA in the State of Connecticut and completion of the PCT Core Curriculum exam from a certificate program.
