Work where every moment matters.

Every day, almost 30,000 Hartford HealthCare colleagues come to work with one thing in common: Pride in what we do, knowing every moment matters here. We invite you to become part of Connecticut’s most comprehensive healthcare network.

St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport CT

As the Department of Psychiatry begins to pivot to shifting emergency psychiatric care from psychiatric management to being managed by emergency department physicians who will be advised by psychiatric social workers, there will be a need for an experienced psychiatric APRN to help make disposition determinations with complicated cases.  We predict 25-50% of cases may warrant this APRN’s more experienced input, and for a minority of ultra-complex cases where more input is required, an inpatient psychiatrist will be able to help provide back-up.  Further, for the cases being admitted, this APRN will help initiate the admissions process by placing a few orders, providing some additional documentation, and coordinating with the department’s admissions specialists.  Other clinical responsibilities include performing consultations on medical and surgical inpatient units.  There may also be some minimal and infrequent inpatient coverage in cases when colleagues who routinely cover those areas are out.  While this position calls for experience and independence, a team player who is adept at coordinating and communicating with other members of the team would be well-suited.  APRN will report to and work with medical director of psychiatric services.

Hours: M-F, approximately 9-5, though a later shift would be possible.  No weekends required, no call; moonlighting opportunities available in conjunction or exclusively.
