Responsible for the proper maintenance, repair and installation of plumbing, heating, steam, medical gas systems and associated equipment in order to provide these utilities in an adequate, uninterrupted and efficient manner. #HHC
Education: Trade school graduate in plumbing discipline or high school graduate with equivalent plumbing experience. Additional training in sprinkler piping, medical gases, heating and cooling and/or stationary operating engineering preferred.
Experience:Four (4) to five (5) years plumbing trade experience required. Additional one (1) to two (2) years of experience in medical gases, sprinkler piping, heating/cooling and/or stationary operating engineering preferred.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Connecticut trade license P2. Valid CT driver’s license with good driving record. Supplemental licensing in any or all of the following: fire protection (F-1 or F-2), stationary operating engineering (0E-2), medical gas licensing and certification (MG-1 or MG-2 with ASSE 6010 and ASME IX brazing certifications) and/or backflow device testing certification preferred.
Language Skills: English
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information. Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email, basic internet use) in order to enter/retrieve data. Thorough knowledge of the plumbing/steam fitting trade necessary. Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications. Knowledge of applicable building, mechanical, DPH and NFPA codes. Proficient in use of hand and power tools related to trade with good diagnostic capabilities. Requires the ability to take the appropriate action in response to changes, circumstances or problems. Ability to react and perform under strict timelines and/or emergency situations.
