Job Summary
The Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute at Hartford Hospital is looking for an experienced nurse to join our Non-Invasive Cardiology team. Join our rapidly growing and successful program at this exciting time as we install our brand new GE PET/CT camera. This camera will allow the Nuclear Cardiology department to provide improved image quality to our bariatric patient population. This state of the art technology incorporated in this device will allow the Hartford Hospital Non-Invasive Cardiology Department to measure real time coronary artery blood flow as well as coronary blood flow reserve. The Stress Lab performs a variety of cardiac stress test procedures daily on inpatients and outpatients. We also support a nationally recognized Cardiology Fellowship program with 15 Non-Invasive Fellows.

The Hartford Hospital Non-Invasive Echo Cardiology department has recently acquired 4 state of the art Philips Echo cardiology machines capable of advanced 3-D imaging as well as cardiac strain imaging. These capabilities provide superior imaging data to support our Structural Heart team which currently perform over 250 TAVR cases per year (the most in CT).

Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family.




Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN required).
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire.
• Strong cardiology background preferred.
