Through our dedicated, experienced and skilled clinicians, we provide patients and their families with the highest quality of personalized care. Programs are offered for children, adolescents and adults struggling with mental illness as well as offering services specializing in Anxiety, Eating Disorders, and Geriatric Services.
The Hartford Hospital Pain Treatment Center is a thriving pain management practice of three physicians and six mid-level providers in West Hartford, CT cares for 2000-3000 patients (typically including 40-50 new consults weekly) with multidisciplinary treatments including medications and interventional modalities, as well as behavioral treatments. The practice also maintains a close relationship with physical therapy providers located in the same building, and interdisciplinary consultation is frequent. Duties will include providing evidence-based psychological interventions (individual and group) to adults with chronic pain and comorbid psychosocial issues. The Psychologist will be involved in program development, as well as clinical and outcome research as desired by the practice. Pre-surgical psychological evaluations of patients under consideration for spinal cord stimulator treatment—approximately one to two weekly—will be an additional focus of practice. Opportunities exist for clinical supervision of psychology and other trainees, including psychiatry residents, and providing some educational experiences to medical students on rotation in the clinic. The preferred candidate will have experience in pain management and cognitive-behavioral treatments for a number of emotional disorders. It is also ideal that the candidate have some experience with health psychology/behavioral medicine interventions. The setting is a specialty and primarily interventional pain clinic. Candidates have some experience with diagnosis and treatment of substance abuse disorders, especially opioid use disorders, are highly preferred. The medical providers of the Pain Treatment Center place a very high value on mental health treatment and a psychological perspective offered by a collaborating and co-located psychologist. Spanish language proficiency is valued.
Responsible for full range of administrative support in a medical office setting providing duties from scheduling appointments, calling pharmacies, billing patients and verifying precertification’s to triaging phone calls from patients, physicians and insurance companies, while maintaining patient and business confidentiality to ensure that the needs of the internal and external customers are met. Reports to assigned supervisor.
