Job Summary
The Clinical Research Facilitator identifies opportunities for research studies, mentors and supports nursing staff in research studies, tracks nursing research studies and monitors compliance to organization standards for accessing information and protection of study subjects. They will oversee integrity of data and seek potential opportunities for enhancing patient care through nursing research. Reports to Nursing Director - Professional Practice

Key Accountabilities
• Provides leadership for nursing research, identifies opportunities for studies and QI projects in order to treat patients more effectively and ensure better patient outcomes.
• Supports nursing staff in the development of research questions and study plans ensuring patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Reviews and evaluates nursing research proposals for staff nurses, MSN and doctoral students.
• Maintains a centralized log of nursing research studies in progress across the organization.
• Provides education to nursing staff on research methodology and organizational standards related to the conduct of research
• Functions as a mentor for Nursing Research Council.
• Works effectively as a team member both within and across clinical settings to promote the advancement of nursing knowledge through research.

Qualifications

• RN, MSN, (PhD, EdD or DNP preferred)
• Current CT RN license.
• Requires experience in specialty background, i.e. cardiology, surgery, etc.
• Experience in nursing research design and implementation.
• Strong teaching and mentoring skills
