The Center for Youth and families is a Child Advocacy Center and Behavioral Health clinic for children and families. We focus on the child, as well as the environment around the child and promote a strength based approach to healing. Clinicians are trained in a variety of evidence based models related to the program that they are assigned to. Working in this agency allows opportunity to create an individualized, and safe therapeutic space for healing. The Masters Level Psychiatric Clinician is a Masters prepared Social Worker (MSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), or Professional Counselor (M.S. Counseling). The Psychiatric Clinician is responsible for the assessment, treatment planning and delivery of outpatient behavioral health therapy services under the clinical direction of the Department of Psychiatry Medical Director as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
Masters degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Counseling. MSW’s must have current Connecticut LMSW licensure if providing clinical services. Incumbent must be eligible to sit for and pass State of Connecticut LCSW licensure exam within two and one half years (2 ½) of assumption of position.
Two years clinical experience in a psychiatric setting.
Experience with children under 6 years old preferred.
