Shift Details: Monday-Saturday, 5x week, 7:30am-4pm, no holidays. per diem

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.


Job Summary:

·        Performs diagnostic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with accepted protocols.


Responsibilities:

·        Sets up and adjusts all imaging equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.

·        Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.

·        Performs routine and complex studies and assists in a variety of imaging procedures.

·        Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.

·        Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.

·        Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.

·        Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).

·        Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.

Qualifications

·        Associates Degree in Health Related Field. Bachelor’s degree in Health Related Field preferred. Experience in a hospital setting preferred.

 

Licensure, Certification, Registration:

·        RCS by CCI or RDCS by ARDMS certification required. Valid CPR certification required.

 

Work Experience:

·        One year of experience required.

·        Proficiency in all phases of echocardiography including Doppler, Color, stress, Echocardiography and TEE experience.
