JOB SUMMARY
In addition to performing the duties and responsibilities of a full time Staff Perfusionist, the primary objective of the Perfusion/ECMO Specialist ECMO Educator is improving patient outcomes and driving patient growth through enhancing the knowledge, comfort, and confidence in various applications of Adult ECMO by providing advanced contextual training and simulation. Perfusion/ECMO Specialist ECMO Educator develops and executes customized training and educational programs that builds and maintains foundational knowledge of advanced heart and lung disease necessitating advanced therapies specific to adult patient populations. The Perfusion/ECMO Specialist ECMO Educator serves as a subject matter expert and clinical liaison to the organization with the goal of strengthening clinical capabilities of the ECMO field.
The Perfusion/ECMO Specialist ECMO Educator will work in collaboration with the Perfusion ECMO Specialist Liaison/Perfusion ECMO Team Leader, the ECMO Specialist Team Leader, the Perfusion Education Team Leader, LifeStar Flight Crew, and ICU Attendings and Advanced Practitioners.
