Programs are offered for children, adolescents and adults struggling with mental illness as well as offering services specializing in Anxiety, Eating Disorders, and Geriatric Services.

Job Summary

Duties include (a) setting up experiments, (b) recording results and maintaining scientific records, (c) assisting in data collection, and (d) eliciting information from patients in accordance with questionnaires.

 

Specific duties:

The incumbent will work 2 to 20 hours per week on the NIH study titled, “Psychosis-Risk Outcomes Network for Adolescents and Young Adults” (1U01MH124639-01) and the recently awarded Hartford Hospital Research Grant, “Improving availability of intranasal naloxone rescue for opioid overdose: A quality improvement initiative.” Performance sites are (a) Olin Neuropsychiatric Research Center, (b) IOL Child and Adolescents Day Program, (c) IOL Grace Webb School, (d) IOL Young Adult Services, (e) IOL Schizophrenia Treatment Services, (f) IOL Outpatient West Grad, and (g) Hartford Hospital Emergency Department. The incumbent will schedule participants for research and clinical procedures, conduct screening interviews, maintain database and records, prepare material for cognitive and behavioral treatment sessions with adolescents and adults, and learn to and conduct group therapy sessions with licensed staff.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in psychology with emphasis or minor in child studies preferred

  • Experience using Python, R, and IBM SPSS Statistics.
