Job Summary

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Unit Manager and as a member of a patient care team, performs routine, delegated tasks in supply, equipment care, and errands, responding to basic patient safety, comfort, and requests. These tasks contribute to meeting the daily needs of patients and the work area, and are performed within all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies, and procedures. Reports to Unit Manager.

 

Responsibilities

·    Orders and stocks supplies according to unit needs to assure availability of required equipment and supplies. Cleans, disinfects, and performs routine care of equipment.

·    Transports specimens, supplies, miscellaneous equipment and records throughout the facility to assist in facilitating safe and efficient workflow.

·    Collaborates with other team members to provide quality patient care by appropriately assisting and responding to patient and environmental needs and by doing any task that is necessary and appropriate to insure an effective work environment.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Demonstrates an ability to read, write, and speak English, perform basic arithmetic and follow instructions
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills appropriate to role expectations.
