Shift Details: Primarily first shift M-F. Occasional evening/weekend work will be required.

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.

 

Job Summary

Performs preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs and installs facility systems and equipment. Reports to Property Manager.

  • Performs preventive maintenance repairs and installs facility mechanical and electrical systems and equipment, HVAC systems and patient related equipment in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Provides these services with a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Actively participates as a team member and behaves in a courteous and professional manner.

Qualifications

·       High School and/or Trade School Graduate required

·       Two years’ experience in Building/Facility Maintenance and/or Commercial/Industrial Systems and Equipment Repairs required.

·       Able to safely use and operate hand and power tools, ability to do basic troubleshooting of electrical/mechanical/plumbing and HVAC systems.

·       Able to complete repairs independently and have a working knowledge of NFPA, JCAHO standards and Life Safety concerns.
